What’s the Cloud’s Role in Digital Transformation?
IT leaders consider digital transformation a top priority, but few have fully implemented technology needed to address initiatives critical to digital business.

Cloud adoption is a top priority, but adoption by enterprises is in its infancy. Less than 10% of respondents said their enterprise is fully deployed in cloud environments, but 86% said the cloud is critical to digital transformation.
50% of respondents have started migrating to either the private or public cloud; 38% use a mix of on-premise technology with a public or private/hybrid cloud; and 7% don’t use the cloud at all.
75% of the respondents said the cloud makes it easier to manage mobile app infrastructures, and 82% said a cloud allows them to more easily manage secure partner ecosystems.
91% of respondents said security is important to their company’s digital transformation, but 82% said security became more complex, challenging and expensive to manage as they moved to the cloud. 58% feel more confident about security since moving to the cloud.
Security is the biggest obstacle when migrating applications to the cloud, so enterprises have allocated more resources to secure the migration. 66% of respondents have also bought more security tools when they moved data to the cloud.
90% of respondents said identity and access management (IAM) technologies are key enablers of digital transformation, as well as secure mobile and cloud experiences.
